Description

For Sale rare find Original 1968 UCLA Lew Alcindor Intramural College All Star Basketball Game Program & Ticket to the January 6th, 1968 Official College Hoops game between the Washington Huskies Vs UCLA Bruins held at the Pauley Pavillion on the UCLA Campus.

Fifty two years ago he was the most dominant college basketball player America had ever seen. Between 1967 and 1969, he led UCLA to three consecutive national titles and an 88-2 record. Yet, his legacy transcends the game; in the age of Black Power, he redefined the political role of black college athletes. In 1968, when black collegians debated boycotting the Olympics, Lew Alcindor, as he was then still known, emerged as the most prominent face in the revolt on campus.

This early incredible find has been wonderfully preserved and highlights this NBA great at the start of his incredible journey that would lead him to greatness and beyond in the NBA.

During his career as a center, Abdul-Jabbar was a record six-time NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP), a record 19-time NBA All-Star, a 15-time All-NBA selection, and an 11-time NBA All-Defensive Team member. A member of six NBA championship teams as a player and two more as an assistant coach, Abdul-Jabbar twice was voted NBA Finals MVP. In 1996, he was honored as one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History.
