From the Good Ship Lollipop Comes a Classic Movie Icon And great Humanitarian Hollywood Legend Shirley Temple from the 1935 C. & T. Bridge Water Ltd (Biscuits) Film Stars 4th Series Card #6.
This classic series was composed of eight total series. Each run bore a unique design that helped distinguish one series from the next. Starting with series 1 (1932) it bore the marking of “CE” over the card number. This was followed by Series 2 (1933) that had an “E” below the card #.
Series 3 (1934), was a black-and-white issue with the studio name in the text box below the name. These three series spanned 96 cards, while later series were 48 cards. Series 4 (1935) had colorized photos with studio name at the top right of the cards.
Series 5 (1937), has colorized photos with pink background tint. Series 6 (1938) was colorized with an “F. ” before the card number. Series 7 is from 1939. Series 8 (1940) has black-and-white photos with the studio name in the lower right of the photo region.
Each card from this nostalgic time period were approximately 1-1/8″ x 1-7/8″ in size with blank backs & numbered on card fronts. A wonderful additional to any Movie Buff’s Collection or Shirley Temple Fan. Conditon NRMT.
Background
Shirley Temple Black (April 23, 1928 – February 10, 2014) was an American film and television actress, singer, dancer, and public servant, most famous as Hollywood’s number one box-office star from 1935 to 1938. As an adult, she entered politics and became a diplomat, as a United States Ambassador to Ghana and later to Czechoslovakia, and as Chief of Protocol of the United States.
